Aesthetic dentistry

Almost everyone wishes for bright, even teeth. What matters is that dental restorations harmonize with the mouth area and overall appearance and look natural. For a coherent overall result, we pay attention not only to individual aesthetic details, but also to how they work together. At our practice in Berlin-Rudow, we combine decades of experience with modern dentistry – from digital planning to fabrication in the dental laboratory.

High-quality dental restorations

Our first choice is a fixed restoration. Here we prefer the biocompatible high-performance material ceramic, which is distinguished by stability and a very natural appearance. If removable solutions are required, we offer modern attachment systems such as precision attachments or telescopic crowns, which provide secure retention without visible clasps.

Patients come to us from Berlin-Rudow and other districts of Berlin for high-quality dental restorations – including in combination with implants implantology. We are happy to advise you if you have any questions.

All-ceramic

All-ceramic is a highly biocompatible, durable and premium material. It looks very natural and is suitable for crowns, bridges, onlays and inlays. Because the colour can be matched to the natural teeth, all-ceramic is particularly well suited to visible areas.

Veneers

Veneers are ultra-thin ceramic shells used in the anterior region and bonded directly to the tooth. Because only a very thin layer needs to be removed, the natural tooth structure is largely preserved.

Inlays & onlays

Compared with conventional fillings, an inlay offers several advantages:

Inlays are custom-made laboratory restorations used for larger defects that can no longer be adequately treated with a direct filling, but where a crown would still be too extensive. Onlays are the slightly larger variant: they additionally cover individual cusps of the tooth. Both restorations are used mainly on back teeth, as these bear the greatest chewing load and have pronounced cusps. For smaller defects on front teeth, composite fillings or – for purely aesthetic corrections – veneers are usually the better choice.

As a material, we generally use all-ceramic. It is highly resistant, biocompatible and can be matched in colour to the natural teeth – in the mouth, the restoration is therefore barely noticeable. For particularly heavily loaded back teeth, gold remains a very long-lasting alternative.

  • It is inserted with a precise fit, so less healthy tooth structure needs to be removed than with large fillings.
  • Durability is significantly higher – a ceramic inlay remains stable and resilient for many years.
  • The surface is smooth and insensitive to discolouration from coffee, tea or red wine.

Treatment takes place in two appointments: at the first appointment, the tooth is prepared and an impression is taken – usually digitally with the 3D intraoral scanner, which replaces conventional impressions in many cases and is especially pleasant for patients with a sensitive gag reflex. The inlay is then individually fabricated in the dental laboratory. At the second appointment, it is placed and the bite is finely adjusted.
