Oral surgery in Berlin-Rudow – with a focus on implantology and sinus lift

Oral surgery has been a key focus of our practice for decades. Our first experience in jaw surgery dates back to the mid-1980s; we have been placing dental implants regularly since the early 1990s. In implantology, we now have more than 35 years of practical experience.
With surgical procedures in the mouth and jaw area, we always consider the subsequent dental restoration from the outset. This is especially important in implantology: an implant only remains stable in the long term if it is not only anchored optimally in the bone, but also restored in close coordination with the dental laboratory. This interplay of surgical and prosthetic planning is particularly important for larger cases – for example extensive gaps, a toothless jaw or as a consequence of periodontitis.
Oral surgical treatments in our practice
We perform the following oral surgical treatments in our practice:
- Implantology (placement of dental implants – detailed information can be found on our implantology page)
- Surgical wisdom tooth removal – when wisdom teeth do not have enough space in the jaw, only partially erupt or displace neighbouring teeth. We perform this procedure routinely and as gently as possible, and where requested under general anesthesia.
- Sinus lift and maxillary sinus surgery – when there is not enough bone height in the upper jaw for an implant, the bone can be built up specifically with a sinus lift. The floor of the maxillary sinus is carefully elevated and the space created is filled with bone substitute material. Sinus lift procedures are among our long-standing core competencies.
- Apicectomy – when inflammation at the root tip of a tooth does not heal through root canal treatment, the root tip can be removed surgically. The tooth can usually be preserved.
- Surgical removal of cysts
- Lip frenulum correction – a minor procedure for a frenulum that is too short or unfavourably attached, often as part of orthodontic treatment or in children.
- Gum surgery
- Pre-prosthetic surgery (preparation of the jaw for later dental restorations, for example by smoothing or targeted augmentation of bone ridges)
- Exposure of impacted teeth as part of orthodontic treatment
- Placement of orthodontic mini-implants (mini-screws / TADs) – small, temporarily placed anchorage elements used in orthodontics to move individual teeth in a targeted way.
General anesthesia and treatment for anxious patients
We know that a visit to the dentist – and especially a surgical procedure – can be associated with tension or anxiety. We want patients who have not visited a practice for a long time or who come with pronounced treatment anxiety to feel well cared for with us too.
We take time for a thorough preliminary consultation, explain every step clearly and coordinate the approach individually with you. Where requested, our oral surgical procedures can also be performed under general anesthesia – directly in our practice rooms, supervised by a specialist in anesthesia. An additional hospital stay is not necessary for this.
Patients come to us from Berlin-Rudow and from other districts of Berlin for oral surgical procedures – in particular sinus lift, bone augmentation and implant placement.
